I wish Winnipeg had more Korean restaurants because I absolutely love Korean food. Whether it’s a comforting bowl of bubbling tofu stew, crispy Korean fried chicken, or a sizzling plate of bulgogi, I’m always happy to make room for Korean cuisine. While we may not have an endless selection, these are my current top three Korean restaurants in Winnipeg.
1. Little Korea

For some of Winnipeg’s best Korean classics, Little Korea is a must-visit. Their bulgogi, bibimbap, and comforting soups are among the most popular menu items, and it’s easy to see why.
Many regulars go specifically for the Korean fried chicken. The chicken is nicely battered, fried until golden brown, and wonderfully crispy on the outside while staying juicy inside. Pair it with a cold beer, and you’ve got yourself a pretty good evening.
One item that’s still on my to-do list is their YumYum Korean Style Spicy Wings. They look absolutely delicious, and judging by everything else I’ve tried there, I have high expectations.
2. Momo Korean & Japanese Restaurant

Momo Japanese & Korean Restaurant is my go-to spot whenever I’m craving Korean food. In my opinion, it’s one of Winnipeg’s most underrated restaurants. Not only is it close by, but the food is consistently good and the prices are very reasonable—often lower than many other Korean restaurants in the city.
They recently added Korean chicken wings to the menu for just CAD$13.95 in two flavours: Swicy (sweet and spicy) and garlic. I tried the garlic wings, and the portion was surprisingly generous. The chicken was juicy, tender, and packed with flavour. I’d happily order them again.
Soon Tofu Jjigae, available with pork or seafood, has always been one of my favourites. It’s one of those dishes that’s consistently satisfying and never disappoints.
Although I’m usually there for the Korean food, Momo also serves reasonably priced sushi, sashimi, and bento boxes. Impressively, many of their Japanese dishes have remained at the same price for years, which feels almost unheard of these days.
One feature I really appreciate is the ordering system. Every table now has an iPad mounted beside it, allowing you to browse the menu and place your order directly. It’s simple, efficient, and saves everyone from trying to make eye contact with a busy server.
If you’re looking for tasty Korean food without spending a fortune, Momo continues to be a solid choice.

3. Kim & Choi’s Hansik Korean Cuisine

Kim & Choi’s Hansik Korean Cuisine is one of Winnipeg’s newest Korean restaurants, opening in May 2026 in the former Café Lemon Tree location.
We visited during their soft opening and were surprised by how busy it was. The staff were incredibly friendly, although a few menu items—including the Korean fried chicken, some pancakes, and noodle dishes—weren’t available yet. That’s to be expected during a soft opening, so we simply ordered what was available.
The pork bone soup was outstanding. The broth was rich and flavourful, and the pork bones were so large that using our hands was the only practical option. The meat practically fell off the bone, and I don’t think we left a single drop of soup behind.
We also ordered the seafood tofu stew, one of our favourite Korean comfort foods. It arrived bubbling away in a hot stone pot, packed with seafood and other ingredients, and served with rice, kimchi, and side dishes.
Then came the Korean assorted pancakes—and wow, they were huge. The platter included kimchi, tofu, mushrooms, zucchini, cod, meat patty, and Korean sausage, all served with a dipping sauce. It was a fun dish to share and much larger than we expected. We couldn’t finish everything, so the leftovers happily came home with us. Needless to say, dessert wasn’t happening that day.
I’m looking forward to returning once I’ve worked through my growing list of dishes to try.
Final Thoughts
If you’re craving Korean food in Winnipeg, these three restaurants are all worth visiting. Whether you’re in the mood for comforting stews, crispy fried chicken, sizzling barbecue flavours, or a feast of Korean side dishes, each restaurant offers something a little different.
Now if only Winnipeg would open a few more Korean restaurants… my stomach would be thrilled, although my wallet might disagree.
