I stumbled upon Polyvore about 4 months ago and quickly joined. As a fashion, design and art lover, it was a no-brainer.
However, it wasn’t a smooth and easy start for me. I signed up on my iPhone 7 with my Facebook login but didn’t have a clue how to use it. It was a bit overwhelming to say the least. I attempted to make a set but frustration soon took over so I quit.
10 -15 days later, I decided to give it another try when I was contemplating whether or not to delete the app. I searched online for tutorials but didn’t quite find what I was looking for. Most of the information was either old or very generic and simple. I thought to myself, if millions of Poly-users can figure it out, so can I. Eventually I did.
As of today, I’ve created 244 sets and have over 13,000 followers.
I don’t profess to know everything about Polyvore. I am still a newbie.
Why am I starting a blog?
- To share my personal experience in hope that it might help other new users learn how to use Polyvore and grow
- To create a platform that Poly-users can share their experiences, ideas and tips so we can learn from each other
The main objective for many of us on Polyvore is to have fun and express ourselves in a creative way. It’s not about competition, the number of followers we have or how many flattering comments we receive.
I have forged friendships with these amazing ladies from around the world, even though we’ve never met in person. One of my Polyfriends @nusongbird always refers to everyone as her Poly-family. Sometimes she calls us “sisters”. It is a tight community. 🙂
