Dreamland Diner has been on my to-try list for a while. I was nearby with a friend recently and we decided to finally drop in.
It sits right in the old Little Goat location. Honestly, we didn’t know what to expect. Our last experience at a nearby restaurant wasn’t the best, so we kept our expectations realistic.
Opened in 2023, this spot brings a casual 1950s diner theme to Winnipeg. It has retro decor, 50s music playing, and plenty of character. The menu is straightforward: burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, ice cream, and milkshakes.
Here is what we tried.
Build-Your-Own Smash Burger
You get to pick your burger size based on patty count:
- Junior: Two 3oz patties
- Classic: Four 3oz patties
- Rockstar: Six 3oz patties
- Dream: Eight 3oz patties (I cannot imagine how tall that thing would be)
We ordered the Junior Burger for CAD$9.95 and fully loaded it with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and bacon for an extra CAD$4.49.
The Verdict: It was a good burger! It packed plenty of flavour, wasn’t messy, and left us satisfied. Totally worth it.
Honey Dill Chicken Burger
Price: CAD$13.95
This looked great on the menu and tasted even better. It is a simple, juicy chicken burger topped with lettuce, pickles, and that lovely local honey dill sauce.
Berry Blast Parfait
Price: CAD$7.50
We pulled this from their massive milkshake and dessert menu. The ice cream itself was incredibly smooth. We were very happy with this choice.
Overall, it’s a good casual spot if you want decent diner food and a fun throwback atmosphere.
